Straight bets consist of wagers like a moneyline, point spread, and total. This means that you are placing single bets on a particular event. To win a straight bet, you have to correctly predict one outcome. You hope a team covers the spread or both teams combine for a high number of points.
Because they are “straight” bets, the payout is the same regardless of which team you bet on. Straight bets using the point spread are at odds of 11-to-10, meaning you are asked to risk $11 to win $10. This is how the sportsbooks make their money.
When you fund your FanDuel Sportsbook account and make that first wager on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moneyline, you've made a straight bet. The moneyline is simply the price the sportsbook offers on the outright winner of the game. For example, the team's moneyline could be -200, making them a favorite.
There will be underdogs that have a (+) sign next to the odds number, and a favorite that will have a (–) sign next to the number. The odds will show you how much money you would win on a $100 wager, or how much you need to bet to win $100, depending on which side you choose to take.
A two-pick parlay has an implied probability of 27.78%. A three-team NFL parlay wager has odds of +600 (Risk $100 to win $600) with a probability of 14.29%. Three single $100 spread bets at -110 odds would win $91 each in comparison to the three-team NFL spread parlay with +600 odds.
As you can see, your ROI is twice as worse as the one we obtained on single wagers (-4.5%). This means you are going to lose money twice faster if you do 2-team parlays instead of single wagers. And again, that's just the tip of the iceberg. If you combine more than two teams on your parlays, it gets even worse.
The best and most profitable strategy to employ with parlays is known as a correlated parlay. Another way to incorporate parlays into your strategy is to bet into weak numbers and combine them with other, stronger spreads to increase your exposure to the weak number.
Is Moneyline a straight win?
A moneyline is one of the most popular and simplest forms of sports betting in which you pick a team or player to win straight up, without a point spread involved. You are simply betting on which team will win a certain football game, for example, or which tennis player will win a particular match.
What is the most successful betting strategy? Hedging bets is by far the most successful betting strategy. This is where you're able to place multiple bets to cover all possible results and still make a profit regardless of the outcome of the game.
You can place multiple 'Singles' bets at a time. Each bet placed is contingent only on the individual outcome bet on. Also known as a 'Straight' bet.
Decimal odds explained
For example, a $100 bet made at decimal odds of 3.00 would return $300 ($100 x 3.00): $200 in profit and the original $100 amount risked. A $100 bet made at decimal odds of 1.50 would return $150: $50 in profit and the original $100 amount risked.
What happens if you bet $100 on a moneyline? If you bet $100 on a moneyline, you might win some money or lose your wager. If the odds for your moneyline bet were +100, you would profit $100 if the team you backed won. If they lose, you are out $100.
Unless the bet terms express otherwise, overtime is part of the wager. This is standard practice at a sports betting site, and they'll spell out the terms specifically in their rules and elsewhere on their apps.
If FanDuel Sportsbook accepts a bet on a market for which the outcome has already been determined, then that bet shall be deemed void (and no winnings shall be payable in respect of it) regardless of the bet being a win, lose or push.

The first and one of the most well-known sports betting and casino strategies on how to win is the martingale system. Using the standard -110 vig for point spread and totals bets, these are the odds of winning your parlay based on the number of bets involved: Two-team parlay – 27.47 percent. Three-team parlay – 14.37 percent. Four-team parlay – 7.52 percent.
It depends on the odds of the parlay. Parlays offer better payouts than single bets because they rely on multiple outcomes occurring. A $20 parlay with odds of +350 would pay out $90 total, for a profit of $70. Adding more legs to the parlay might bring the odds to +670, which would pay $154 (profit of $134).
